    Boxes Tools Armourers Aust Filled

Well after a long time in waiting, I finally have got my Armourers box home. From what was left in the box and what I had already collected, I think its well on its way to been complete. If only I had a CES list to help. Its still missing a few SMLE tools and bits, including the vice and its legs.

I can see all sorts of identifiable tools in there but most of it is duplicated. The usual Armourers hand tools etc etc. Most of these and the ones you show in the other threads are meaningless unless you have them alongside a scale.

Ask owner to correct the spelling on the box too.......

Thanks, yes there are doubles and some not true correct to the period, but i had to put them somewhere. For example I have 3 other Lewis broken case extractor tools, all having different markings, but have only put one in the box. The others, like most, will be put away in a box, placed into some area of my shed, and never seen again until accidentally found or the kids are having a clean up when i am long gone.

As for the spelling on the box, not sure what period that this was marked, i would say later on in its life. FIELD or FILLED not sure, but spoke to a collector and there is no reason why it could not have been FILLED, but at a guess it should have been FIELD.

The owner of another Australianicon box should be able to correct this or a CES list will confirm the correct title.

That happens. I will have ask a person that had seen the box when it was first sold out of a gun sporting store many many years ago and see if it was stenciled back then. If not, somebody has stuffed up there
