This is my first post forgive me if this is the wrong place to ask.
I'm helping a friend sell his Type 99 rifle, he knows nothing about it. I collect US surplus and don't know the Japaneserifle market. Looking on the internet values are all over from 200 to 400. I'm looking for a starting point when he lists the rifle for sale.
The rifle is a Type 99 series 40 made at Jinsen arsenal. The serial number is low and the rifle looks better made then some of the "last ditch" rifles. Some parts of the bolt have matching numbers, but the handle shows a 5, not 8 like the serial number. The bore is shinny and I don't see pitting. The rifle is missing a few screws, the front band and behind the bolt.
I'd appreciate any advise on this rifle.Information
