British 303

I have a British 303. With all the markings on it, it is difficult to determine exactly what model it is, but after a lot of research as best I can tell it was built in the US in the 1940s by Savage with original designation S N0 4 Mk1* and shipped to Britain. It appears to have been reconfigured to a Mk 1/3 in 1952 at Fazakerly, a British factory. It is my understanding that a scope mount that fits a No4 Mk1 will not work on a No4 Mk1*. Researching, I read that the No4 Mk1* (Star) is unique and requires a special type scope mount. Does anyone know where I might find a scope mount for my No4 Mk1* ?

We are to take it he does mean a no drill scope mount? There's also the TO-1 mount but it's a drill and tap.

Depends what type of mount; most of the non-drill top-mounts of the Fultons/Armalon/S&K/Accumounts type will fit Mk 1 or Mk 1* no problem.

Some other side-mounted types have minor issues with the angle of chamfer on left side of the receiver. This is a rifle manufacturer thing rather than related to the bolthead release method.
