Here are some pictures of a recent purchase which was sold to me as a Czechcontract long Mauser bayonet and at a very reasonable price, so no complaints. I'm not 100% convinced that it is actually Czech but suspect that it is in fact a refurbished Yugoslavian M24 bayonet. Unfortunately there are no markings visible to help identification other than the numbers stamped to the rear of the pommel, I assume a serial. It appears to have standard Mauser fittings although I haven't actually tried it on anything; the muzzle ring is round about 16mm dia. Notice how one side of the throat to the scabbard is cut away, presumably to allow the scabbard to be fitted while the bayonet is attached to the rifle. The finish appears to be a black paint to the metalwork and lacquer to the wood grips.
I wondered what other members thoughts are on this one as to whether or not it is a refurbed YugoM24 or something else? Thanks for any information.
