    Model Searchlight

One of the items which I have that came from my Father is this model searchlight which my Father believed he received as a present during the war. I have never seen another one like it and have always wondered if it was actually produced just after the war because I thought that all toy production was halted during WW2, in the U.K.. I did a quick internet search this evening and found that there were a few variations of this model both in style and size. I did also see it suggested, in one advert, that they may have been produced from the immediate prewar period, perhaps until early into the war?

The light unit elevates skywards by using the side knob and has 360 degree traverse. It has a working lamp which is powered by a bicycle lamp battery concealed in the base.
