Chinese Type 56 (SKS) odd serial
Bought a lot of guns this weekend...this was one of them. It is currently apart as it was absolutely smothered in cosmoline
. Still quite of cleaning to be done.
All matching, and the stock is in the usual lovely Chinese color of oil and dirt. Plenty of storage bumps and bruises. However, the original 'bluing' is all there. No wear whatsoever. Bore is a mirror. Ive never seen a nicer bore on one of these.
The serial is a bit odd. It has an 'F' prefix, followed by the rather short number of 9331. I cant really remember seeing a Type 56 with a letter prefix, much less with a Latin character.
More pics to come.

Well, it would appear that this is a true 'Sino Soviet
' T56....

Looks about new, like you suspect. Guess you'll have to warm it up a bit?

I would definitely have a go at that stock. Looks like they used an old stock on a new rifle.

Chinese letter series carbine made in 1959 or 1960. It's not uncommon to see a beat up Sino-Albanian stock with the metal bluing near 100%.
nice get!

...just for clarification: It's a chinese --many chinese stocks were made of a soft "chiu" wood that was more prone to dents than birch, elm or walnut.
I really dig the contrast between the beat up old stocks and the near perfect bluing.

Yes, I understand that. It just seems that the stock is a retread on a new gun. I had a few Simonovs, never a Yugo
though. We confiscated lots of those though, all brand new.
