Help - Martini Henry 22 Trainer - Stock Needed

Hi all,

I have a Martini Henry 22 trainer action w/safety that I found a Parker Hale 22 LR barrel that was re-lined from .303. I have a front section of wood that is junk and I need a replacement.

Does anyone have wood out there?

I would prefer a whole set if possible.

To answer this we need a whole lot more data. It isn't like Martinis only came in one size and used common wood. There are so many variations on action size, barrel lengths, and means of attachment that one needs detailed specifics to take an educated guess. Assuming your relined .303 barrel fits your action, we can assume it is a full size action. However since the military ones and their clones didn't have safeties (save the very rare unaltered early MK I), it is a commercial action by one of over a dozen makers....each with their own peculiar features. At a minimum we need detailed pics of the action and barrel to determine the type of forearm (MK II or MK III) that might be appropriate....and of course barrel length. For a full length forearm, the only new wood out there that I'm aware of is for the original MK II military rifles in 577/450 from IMA. Others may know other sources.....but first we have to know what we are really looking for.

My friend is chucking up the barrel right now. It is a full size Henry action with 22 extractor and rim fire pin with safety. It is military marked as well I belive. I will get the pictures posted when he gets it back to me in a couple weeks. The barrel was what I assume an original 303 full size barrel that was re-chambered via liner to 22LR by Parker Hale and is marked as such. I will have to get it measured when I get the chance again. To good not put put together. I am considering sporter wood as I have a BSA peep that would mount well to the set up. Thanks for any information. Like I said, Ill post pics as soon as I can. Cheers.

Since you said it had a safety, and since no .303 military rifle had a safety, I was assuming it wasn't military. One or the other may be true, but they are mutually exclusive.
