My 1st K31!

Flabbergasted........... I have read and heard great things about these rifles, and have believed most of the praise that I have heard/read. I'm a stubborn person and have to see it to believe it. I was walking around at Knob Creek this weekend and spotted this K31 laying on the table next to a M48 and a really interesting Arisaka variant. The stock of the K31 floored me so I had to pick it up and inspect. The price tag at $425 was within my price range. I have been looking for such an example for my first K31 for 3-4 years at this price point, they are fairly uncommon to see in KY on a gunshop shelf. I scurried to the ATM and bought it. As soon as I got home, I fired a shot at my 10" AR550 plate that I have placed at 125yds and PING. Then fired 5 more at it with 5 more PINGs to follow... standing! I can shoot, but I'm no marksman by any means. I had to scrape my jaw off of the floor because I have never had this experience with any milsurp for the first experience. It usually takes some learning and adjustment for me. This was point and shoot. Anyways, enough with the talk. Here are the pics! 1944?

Thats what I thought. Out of state dealer so Im assuming the $25 was the on the spot transfer fee, so $400 if you look at it that way. I didnt even lowball at that price. Its in amazing shape. Bluing is probably 95% and pretty much no beaver chew on the stock. Man is she accurate!!!! Deer season is coming up so Ill take me a couple with this sweetie. No troop tag

Nice rifle we have a few at our club and they all shoot very well in fact my friend went to Qld this year and cleaned them up in the National Service shoot with one, being Swiss made what would one expect the only draw back is the flimsy 6 shot cardboard type clips our guys just brought spare mages but over here thats a costly affair.

That 6 shot charger is a fantastic thing. If you take care of them they will last longer than you. If you prefer a more modern one there is modern plastic repros out there now, which also work very well (though just the right size for the action so it can take slightly more fiddling to insert into the action).

Here is a pic of the K-31 stripper 6 round D.O.M unknown the top is like a compressed cardboard whilst the bottom section is aluminium (with some Highland 7.5 rounds) compared to a 303 5 round WWI era stripper clip I know which one will stand the test of time and mild abuse. Its just the K-31 strippers are going for $25/Ea here as collectibles where as the Enfield WWI strippers range from $10-15/Ea when they come up.

I'm gonna have to find me some of those! I kust ordered a bunch of PPU from SGAMMO for a pretty good price. I also noticed that the "bolt handle?" arm is the updated type of metal that shouldn't crack? Or cam arm? Everything in the bolt looks tip top. Boy are these things not just a mechanic marvel? I hace two Steyr M95s and their bolts are a lot more crude. I feel like I could do some damage in a match with mine just from the 20rds I fired... lol

I bought mine two months ago and love it.
Yours is definitely 1944. The serial no. Is within that year’s.
Did you check under the butt plate? No troop tag? A pity, but still secondary.
