G'day there everyone. I recently got a hold of my first ever No4 Enfield after owning and mucking around with plenty of SMLE's and LE's. From what I can see absolutely everything matches, including wood. The only let-down is the barrel that won't polish up, and some corrosion in the lands'. Apart from that it looks used and abused, but looked after well enough. I know nothing about these rifles: It took me a few minutes to figure out how the bolt comes out honestly. It has 'US61' painted onto the butt-stock and fore-end and front top wood. '6181' is the end of the serial number. Is this 'US61' important in military terms, or importing markings?
