    Old Fort in Corfu

Whilst in Corfu recently for a short break, I managed to get into Corfu town to take a look around the old fort, I intended to do the two forts but on entering the old one was told the new one was closed.

The original fort has had additions added on over time, Weather was around 34 degrees so very pleasant and had on the previous night taken on plenty of the all inclusive beer and Ouzo.... so was a little tired.

Some pics below, it was a shame to see the cannons just lying there and am sure something could be done with them, its not just these that tell the story that we were there, the corner stone and the brick/block floor give the game away too, I can only guess the bricks were marked to stop the squaddies selling them to the locals ?? or the locals stealing them.......
