P.14 Carbine
I thought I would had posted pictures of this rifle, but since I couldn't find them I must had never posted them ... so please find attached some pictures of an Eddystone P.14 rifle in .303 British
caliber which was converted to Carbine length at some point of time.
The overall length now is 100 cm (39,4") with a barrel length of 47 cm (18,5"). While the stock is a M1917 stock, the rifle still remains in its original caliber. An interesting detail is the full serial number which is stamped also to the rear handguard. I was not able to find any other markings on the rifle telling me on the origin of it. My best guess would be somewhere in India or Asia, since M1917 carbines (although those seem to be a bit longer than my rifle) are known to originate from there.
Edit 18.06.2023: re-uploaded pictures that were lost in forum crash.

Done by some enterprising individuals, you can see the cold blue evident at the crown of the barrel. Is it detailed right? Will a bayonet still fit? We had scads of #4s floating around like that here. I'd have one if it came by me, just for a shooter.

Cool carbine. I have No5 with a similar size barrel, all I can say is ouch! That puppy must have some kick to it.
This conversion must have been done after WWII because it has a Weedon stamp on the receiver and bolt. I'm sure it wasn't done then though. There's no wood to metal barrel contact at the front band so it must be fully free floating like a No5. I'd like to try it at the range to see how it does.
BTW its missing the nut for the rear sight screw. - Bill

Took me some time, but found the pictures .. appears to be the exact same configuration. What I noted myself, the tag assumes the rifle originates from Egypt.

Has the sight been re-calibrated for the shorter barrel? I suspect not, which would be a pretty good indication of a conversation by Bubba not an arsenal.

Doesn't look like the front sight has a keyway either as it doesn't appear to have a key or locator pin. Done by one that has minimum equipment.
