    Looking for help with proof marks.

    I have the no4 mk1 serial #34c8416. There appears to be an arrow beside mk1 rather than asterik.

    Pics would be priceless and we could give you so much more. As for asking who it was issued to, or where it served, that will remain a mystery. We didn't keep that kind of records, only serviceability and those records went with the whooping cranes...

    "C" indicates Chicopee Falls, the Savage factory. The arrow is likely a badly struck *.
