barrel date stamps on M1 rifle barrels

The dates are one size, not small or high numbers on the examples I have seen, maybe there was change or the stamp was modified for a correction or faked ? Here are some examples for comparisionAttachment 97222Attachment 97221Attachment 97220Attachment 97219

The S is different from any of the others and the 1 looks to be a little bigger than other numbers.
