"R" stamped stock

I own and have seen at least 5 Eddystone M17s with "R" stamped stocks. These rifles are still in blue and have all "E" stamped parts. All in excellent condition. If the armories rebuilt these they would be gray park and mixed parts. Did Remington supply stocks to Eddystone??

It comes up regulatory so a good one to respond to.

The answer is no. Eddystone was an odd offshoot of Remington with an equal weird history that amounts to if there were any profits they went to Remington but Eddystone l was a stand alone non Remington run entity of convenient for Remington and or the US (the relationship is murky to this day)

No parts were exchanged between any of the 1917 mgs.

Thanks for the answer but I found out that the M1917 I was interested in had the stock changed by a previous owner.

I think it was almost mandatory for strokes to get changed when the arsenals did the work on them!

I managed to pick up a couple of non marked stocks I am holding on to. You can make a faux OEM 1917 with those as no stamps o them other than the original factory ones.
