Found a holster in a trash pile.

I strongly dislike and have colorful language when illegal trash dumpers come to mind. I was cleaning up some trash some one dumped near my property and I saw this in the trash pile. At first I thought it was an part of an old boot or shoe, but picking it up it was an old holster.
It was dried out but I have been soaking it in oil to bring it back to life. The stitching is pulled out on the back of it for the belt loop but that can be fixed. But over all its not in terrible shape.
It's marked Hunter 56M. Other than that I don't know much about it or if I'm missing any parts of it. Googling it there was one that was similar to it but not the same. Any one seen one of these before?

Side note. It took 8 kitchen trash bags, 4 medium boxes to clean up the mess that was dumped off. Their mother should have taught them better.

    Brewer,
It certainly seems to have come from the same stock, with a few modifications, but definately there's: https://www.huntercompany.com/

Thanks Gil. That for sure looks like it fits in with their style. I'll get mine sewn back together and the leather supple again, i have a repro 1858 new army that i think would fit nicely into it.

I have two of that style, one is left hand and one right. They are black in color and fit a K frame revolver, my model 10 four inch heavy barrel specifically...they cover the revolver completely. I got both from an ex Oregon Policeman that had them in his accumulation.

By the way, mine are the 54M and 54M LH, I wonder if that means 4" compared to the 56M being for 6"...M being medium frame?

I really hate people who dump and deface things. That is a nice find though.

I would imagine that it would be the case that 4 or 6 equals Barrel size. The holster I have looks like it can accommodate a barrel about that size.

    old holster

I found this in the back room of an old gunshop years ago. It is for the Colt 1911 and there is a single magazine pouch too. This is called, I believe a "pancake" holster and dates to the WW1 time period ? What is interesting is that it can be used as a hip or shoulder holster. Never able to locate any information as it is without markings but well made.

I was trying to get a date or era it was manufactured. The company started in 1952 but other than that nothing much is out there on these.
