Mystery M1 Carbine Tool
Hello all,
I picked this up in an auction lot of various M1
Carbine tools.
It has me stumped! Anyone know what it is?
Thanks!

It's a tool where one half is inserted through the magwell of a Carbine trigger housing and the other half bolts on to it to hold it in place.
Its purpose may have been to hold the housing for machining operations of some sort??

Well duh. Now I see it, haha. Thanks!
I can't find another like it through an image search. Perhaps a one-off job for the smith that made it.
Thanks again!

Possibly used for machining operations for the Type 6 configuration? - Bob

What it looks like to me is a tool that is used for forming the bottom lips for the base plate on a carbine mag. But that's my WAG. Someone would need to check dimensions.
When they tell you to behave, they always forget to specify whether to behave well or badly!

Sorry for the delay on getting back to this. Been busy and then sick.
Here's some more pics in the application. It definitely appears to be some sort of fixture for a milling operation on the trigger housing.
