New Inland from South Store, report

Was driving past Anniston last week so stopped in and picked out this SG Inland, and canceled my mailed-in order. I liked the sharp stock markings. Measures -1 on muzzle gauge. I guess I'm just a moron, but I can't get the images to upload to here from photobucket. Here is the url:

What does M on slide stand for, if you don't mind?

South Store had no 03a3s at the time, probably 30 SG Inlands, 10-20 SG Underwoods, same number of RGs, a few RG NPMs and IBMs, no SA M1s, a good many H&R M1s. Gentleman behind the counter said he was waiting for someone to pick out this carbine. But maybe he says that to all the guys.

My first time at the store, would be nice to live near.

Click on the IMG under your picture. Then paste it in your post.
The M looks to be a inspetion stamp.

    Nice grab....
I'm not sure if I've ever seen a RSG marked stock with the QHMC Cartouche.
    Very interesting.
I'll share a few of your pics until you learn how.

    Thanks for sharing your find.

    Regards

I'd be willing to bet that the SG recoil plate is original to that stock.
Could you look inside the stock's slide well and see if you can see any sign of a 'Green number stamp' ?

    like these,

    Enjoy your find...

I checked and no sign of any green stamp like that. What does that stamp signify?

Thanks for posting my pics and the tips, Charlie.

I've been refinishing stocks and have only found the green number stamps in the RSG stocks. These were made by the Robert Irwin Co.
It's thought that it may be some type of Julian dating system.

    Mr. Painter,

I have a type II stock, marked IR-IP, that has the green Julian date stamp in the slidewell.

If you want, I can post a picture of it.
