    MG08/15 help with markings

    Hi everyone!

My store got a few toys in and we are trying to figure out some information about them and their markings! We are cleaning some of them and helping to restore as well. Any and all info would be amazing!

    Thank you!

These guns were probably captured by a Canadian unit in WW1 and marked after the battle by them. Many came back to Canadaicon in the units and went to their armories, many more were dropped off at any rail siding for the towns that had a monument for the war. Some were in private possession. The unit markings can usually be deciphered if you can get a reasonable pic...

You actually have a man living in Irma AB down the road that can help perhaps...in deciphering these. Also bit of the history. I can PM you a name perhaps...

603 G (b?) doesn't appear in the war trophies list. It may have been brought back after the war, or by returning officers for a particular regiment's collection.

Post up the other serial numbers and we'll see what can be found.

Don't recognize the "CAG" monogram; the Adjutant General's department isn't known for battlefield captures.

I a manager at a military surplus store in Edmonton. We were asked by a museum to help restore and sell some.
