Acceptable load for the SACM 1935_A

Ammo for the 1935A has been scarce for many years. The original steel cased, non reloadable ammo was hard to find and what you could find was usually just expensive duds. Up to now shooting this little Frenchy gun was a rare and expensive activity for us. So it was a great day when Starline decided to make brass for the little 7.65 French Long. After ~100 test loads to choose the correct powder & bullets and get loads that fed & functioned perfectly, we came to this:
Starline Brass
4.3gr Ramshot Silhouette
85gr Hornady JHP .312 Diameter
1.109OAL

The little gun was a pleasure to shoot with full power loads (when they worked) and even more fun with the 90% power loads we ended up with. Hand loading saves another cool old gun.

ya know, if every kilo of smack came across the border nestled among, say 30-80,000 rounds our favorite almost forgotten cartridge, say 8mm lebel, would we really mind a few dead junkies?

it would make a legitimate and benefical economy and industry over seas.

A better load is the .309 Hornady 90 gr. XTP with 3.5 Grs Unique with the new Starline brass. Quite accurate too. Feeds well in both my 1935A and my 1935S. Lee has been making short runs of dies and shell holders for the 7.65.

Have you tried the load I did? 4.3gr Ramshot Silhouette with 85gr Hornady JHP .312 Diameter

My barrel slugged at .311. What is yours?

Just thought I’d mention these folks:
9mm Largo Ammunition - 7.65 French Long 110gr RN- 50 count

I bought four boxes a while back after buying a 1935S. That pistol turned out to be missing lots of parts so I moved it down the road. Still have the ammo so now I’m looking for another pistol haha.

Mine is right at .309 for my 1935S and the 1935A is at .310. It is worn a bit for sure.

So with either gun you are basically skipping .308 Diameter bullets down the barrel. That is why I went with the .312 Diameter bullets. You might try casting and sizing some .311 lead bullets.
