M1 Carbine USMC Stock Pouches

What is the correct belt used for these USMC Stock Pouches. I bought one from IMA for 400.00 a couple of years ago. He still has it listed with a Sold sign on it. You can't really find these Stock Pouches. I know people have them and I offered a trade and I got a couple of offers. If you do see one you will Spend some serious Coin. I have 10 of them and I had to get the USMC Utility/ Demo 5 Snap Belt like the one I bought from IMA. I found a couple more Stock Pouches in a box and would very much like to have the Correct Belt. I've search the Internet and seen only 1 and it was in Bad Shape and the other was Too Expensive. Thank You

No such thing as an M1 Carbine "stock pouch". Marine or otherwise. Carbine mag pouches were made to go onto the regular issue web belt. On the stock they mostly just look cool. Getting at the mag in the pouch on a stock is awkward to say the least.

Miss the point much? He's asking if the below type belt is correct for USMC use.

There were two I was aware of but can't say when they appeared. One is a pants belt with multiple snaps and one a M1936 belt with multiple snaps. I think originally the pouches were issued on a one pouch and three total mags issue. Not sure of the TOE on that one...so guys started loading belts and slipping them on the butt to keep them available when you didn't have fighting gear on...

Thank You Jim...I did see one and it was the M1936 belt, but it was beat up and I passed. I did make contact with IMA and the guy told me he should be getting one pretty soon so I'm just waiting for his call.

I have plenty of magazines so I went digging through them to find identical Manufacturer Markings with the same type of Bottom Plates for each Pouch. Well it took me awhile to go through them, but now each pouch has matching Magazines.

The Marine Corps also issued a M1961 Cartridge Belt, intended for M14 magazine pockets, which would also work with the carbine pouch. The earliest ones were just WW2 or later Pistol Belts with the fasteners added - later they were made from new. Production of these was only through to 1967 before the Marines ceased using their own field gear and started using the Army's set, which they had originally rejected.

And after reading that, obviously the one I spoke of as a 1936 belt with snaps would be the developed belt. I wouldn't have had the early test pattern. I doubt any of those exist. Mine was web material though, not nylon.

I'll look / read it closer tomorrow, but I believe I had the Vertical pattern web belt. I had noticed it had just the single fold only near the buckle. I thought it was a repro since it was different than the 4 or 5 others I had bought as a part of a large bundle from a older ladies grab box at a VFW flea market. I just happened to drive by it in a new to me area. I believe I gave that belt to a neighbor boy for his army suit he would play in. But may have a picture of them... I'll look. To go with the belt I also gave him a old .32 revolver holster that his squirt gun fit in perfect, few mag pouches- .45 and carbine, a Chinese or Japanese ammo belt with multiple pockets that had the little wood pegs and loops along with straps for over the shoulders... sorta like a bandoleer belt with straps, we filled a few pockets with toy grenades , canteen, some smoke bombs, a camo shirt, plastic army helmet ... etc.
That kid's smile still gives me fond memories, I've heard he is married now after serving in the Marine Corp.

I remember that lady telling me my total was $16 as she was still handing me things she said all went together. A couple faded covers that I could just see the Marine symbol on the fronts, she said they were all things her Veteran husband had laying about. And also a reversible camo helmet cover, a few .45 mag pouches... etc. I mean I had a box full enough to use 2 hands to carry it. She wouldn't take the $20 bill I tried to hand her without giving me the $4 change back.
I paid her and took the change back then went down the row to another lady who was helping her. I managed to get her to take $50 and headed for the door !. Honest to God while getting in the truck I could hear her yelling Sir! Sir ! Your Change !! We Grinned as we sped away while waving at her....

Been a rough couple weeks here after my MIL's funeral Saturday. And loosing our neighbor lady of 35 years the week before. But this belt just reminded me of the my experience above.... And Lord knows I need a good smile.

Hey.... I found a picture of that ammo belt like I gave the kid. Once geared up he was the best looking Soldier on the street.
But I got in trouble giving him matches and the smoke bombs

Looks like back when I had carbines and bags of mags. I bought every pouch that came along and had scads. I eventually sold them all to a local hoarder...long gone now.

I bought a bunch over the years from JimF4M1s.
I built a display cabinet for them as you know his were mint condition.
But I always waited for him to list on auction so I could pay market value, instead of getting the buddy deal........ Except 1, which I needed to cover all the years that maker made them.

Hard to believe but come Nov 16, it will be a year since we lost him.
