Gas piston look ok ?
Is it me or does this piston appear backward?
Owner said he's shot it, reported no issues.

It's just you Charlie. It does look odd with that ring on the piston, but it's not backwards. Take a loose piston and place it on the nut backwards and you will see the difference.

I just did Wayne and see what you mean.
In the picture I must have seen the inner recessed edge of the nut and mis-took that for the other end.
I had PM'd the guy and probably scared him to death, telling him it was backward and how to R and R it to install correctly.
I feel like a dumb *** now, but glad it was just a mistake.
Thx,

I tried to draw the edge that made it appear like it was backward.
That line may be a carbon / wear line.
Still feel horrible that I messed the guys afternoon up

Don't worry about it Charlie, we all make mistakes and it came from flagging up a genuine concern.....

Hi Clarky,
Yea I was reading about how it was a new carbine to the owner and he was trying to make sure everything was in proper shape. I seen it and looked at that picture for quite a while thinking it was backward and that the back part (what I thought at the time) looked thinner than a GI Piston.
No excuse, but I only caught a few winks last night. Middle of the night phone call upset things around here.
I should have went downstairs and checked a loose nut and piston, but I panicked because it was a older post and worried it might hurt someone or blow out his hand guard.
Nothing I can do now, I sent him a PM and apology.
Thx,

Oh I have TONS of rocks for him. But since he was sincere in his thoughts we shall let it go..... but that piston does not look right. It appears to have a grove around it where is should be solid.
