Guy in the left in gloves. Would love to know the hull numbers. A couple of Gleaves-class destroyers in that nest?

The Gleaves-class destroyers were a class of 66 destroyers of the United States
Navy built 1938–42, designed by Gibbs & Cox.[3][4] The first ship of the class was USS Gleaves. They were the production destroyer of the US Navy when it entered World War II.

The Marine Raiders used converted WWI four-stack destroyers, brought out of mothballs and converted into APDs (fast transports) to move their men. They started with USS Manley (DD74) which had two of its boilers and their stacks, its torpedoes, and one gun removed to make space for transport, and was classified as AG28, an auxiliary transport. When it proved its utility at Culebra in the Caribbean, it was reclassified APD-1, the lead ship of a new class of six mothballed WWI destroyers converted specifically for Marine Transport.
