Another Irwin-Pedersen question for rki
There were type II and type III IP-W recoil plates. Is there a barrel date or some other way to know when type II switched over to type III?
Thanks!

Sorry, everyone. I read some bad information. I just found out that all IP-W recoil plates are type II only. I was very confused.

AS you know now that IP never made type 3 recoil plate for issue. IP was only in business till March 1943 when their contract was revoked and give to Saginaw Steering Gear. SG took over all of the IP inventory, machinery and buildings. Then started making carbines using what ever was left from IP. Time wise in general July1943 for the change over to the type 3 recoil plate. So don't be confused. Just ask here and someone with correct information will answer you. Just may take longer times now and then. Their a bunch of old farts you know and don't move quick anymore.!!!!

When they tell you to behave, they always forget to specify whether to behave well or badly!

Thank you Painter. I resemble that remark. Now lets see. That puts the likes of Bob, Jimb16 myself and at least half the forum board in the same boat. Just goes to show that you young whipper snappers have no respect for the elderly.
