The artful dodger!
Often a source of merriment and laughs is our Siamese who has not a clue how to be a cat and try as he may never look all that blessed with brains.
So today we had to build a new vege patch for my wife's mother as she has sadly ended up in hospital so were at her house most of the morning doing that for her.
As my wife gets cold at night she sometimes uses an electric throw rug which we leave folded up on the 2 seater.
Normally our cat greets us when we arrive home, however this time the artful dodger managed to get in between the folds of this rug which is quite heavy, he gets cold!
I entered the house and could not for a minute see him, sometimes he's at the front window eyeing off the birds in a grevilia not 6 feet from his nose?
But as it was a bit chilly today he decided that no way was he leaving that cosy niche to greet that noisy human.
I've owned allot of cats over the years some died of old age others well sadly became re-treads and I have had another Siamese in the early '80s.
This bloke takes the cake of all my pets just cracks me up and loves to play chasey around the house.
He also enjoys his hind quarters being smacked briskly, what's with that I wonder!
They say a pet is a reflection on their owners, however I do not like my rear quarter being smacked, still he is allot of fun and loved dearly by myself and the wife.

We have two British
Short hair breed. One is totally grey and the other like a mountain cat, silver with black stripes and akin to the Whiskers Cat food advert. She cost me more than my first car......a 1957 Ford Prefect at £250
They are good company regardless, and as you say part of the family. These cost so much, they don't go out.......couldn't afford to lose them, so to speak. They are generally house cats.
So no presents brought in at all hours, some alive and no fleas or other gruesome finds, just beauty personified
PS Photo taken after Christmas lunch last year................they looked as if they had been on the pop all day lol

Cinders,
Meant to say...........neighbours who wanted one similar were quoted £1800 GBP in lockdown. Suffice it to say, he bought a new rifle instead, not that his wife was pleased

Black Siamese
I had a black siamese cat for 17 years, Jon-cat, he died in 2014. Obvious he was not 100% siamese, but a smart cat. I soon as I came home, he would tell me long winded stories about the day, he also liked to open kitchen cupboard doors. He learned to open doors by turning the knob with his pawls. Sometimes during the night, he would open my bedroom door - which scared me a number of times, never got to sleep right when that happened. He would wake me at seven oclock every morning yelling in my ear to get up - even on the day he died. Attachment 120691Attachment 120692

Current ruler of the house. Wandered in the door twelve years ago. Never left. Luckily, she allows me to stay, provided I perform my chores.

Mine was back from 2007 to 2011 and a Norwegian
forest cat. She came with a woman that moved in and decided I was her mate and she'd found her retirement home. She was certainly the best part of the relationship. She died of skin cancer in 2011, which apparently is common to white cats. She shadowed me always...

That is the trait of the breed RCS they are a very vocal cat explaining just what it is they have done in their day which is usually not very much, but also what you have not done for them.
Mine has the bad habit of dashing into my room jumping up on top of a prototype Ghillie jacket that was submitted to the ADF but did not get selected and hanging off it!!!!!! I just pick him off it and say No and get his disapproval voice.
He follows me around like a puppy, if I go outside to do stuff he gets in his cat run or a beside a flyscreen door and meows quite loudly at wanting to attend the activity, sadly due to another side of his nature if he got out he is so scared of allot of things he would bolt and I'd never catch him.
That side of his personality is legacy of the sod breeder he came from even now after 3 years with us showered in love and affection he will at times run and cower from us which upsets me greatly.
My other Siamese I had in the early 80's remained perched on my shoulders like a scarf in public, rode down the front of my jacket when I rode my motorbike with his head out and the same when driving the car with his paws on the drivers sill and ones black face outside in the breeze.
Sadly I changed my routine coming up the driveway one day, he ran from where he usually waited for me, I did not see him and ran him over to which he died in my arms, I was going through a bitter & messy divorce at that time, he was my companion to say I was heartbroken is an understatement.

Would rather she be out chasing squirrels off the porch...those tree rats keep chewing at the rails.

The kiddos schooling from home during the lockdowns messed with her lazy quite house sleep-all-day routine, so she found she could hide under my desk from them.
On a positive note...the CMP
wait times for Garands (only field grades left) look like her Christmas present for me might just get here in time. Running about 5 months and change from paperwork submission to your doorstep.
Here is last year's present from my pup...
