Carcano Serial Number Locations
I just took delivery of a 1918 M91 Cavalleria. Even though the stock and receiver/barrel have matching numbers, I'm pretty sure the gun won't be all matching. Can anyone advise where the serial numbers would be located so I can confirm or deny its status? Thanks!!

Hi Singer, you should find the serial numbers on the left side of the stock, down, just above the buttplate.
On the rifle itself, left side of receiver and barrel.

Thank you! Are those the only two numbers required for matching status? I noticed some different numbers on the sight and can't find any numbers on the bolt. I wasn't expecting much when I ordered this gun, but now that I have it apart, I am finding it is actually a very interesting piece.

These are the only serial numbers you will find: stock and barrel.
On the bolt you have only markings like this.

Thanks again! My rifle matches. There was a different set of numbers on the bottom of the receiver and barrel that matched each other but didn't match the numbers on the top of the barrel and the stock. You can just barely see the round stamping just forward of the sling well so I am pretty happy with it!
