Redfield Horizontal Split 7/8" rings front dovetail swivel (1" w/ 7/8" brass reducer)

Attachment 121538Attachment 121539Attachment 121537Ive a couple Redfield Horizontal Split 7/8" rings front dovetail swivel type (1" w/ 7/8" brass reducer) that fit the 1903A4 Redfield Scope base and M3 Carbine Scope base to mount an M84 scope (fits the M73, M81 & M82 scope as well).

These rings are old, and the correct profiles for the era. The brass reducers have some text etched into the inside, but these old eyes cant read them. Im not sure where they come from, nor their provenance, whether they are USGI or a field mod or other (informed comments welcome). However, they fit perfectly and when mounted are nearly indistinguishable from the known USGI Redfield 7/8" rings.*

Ill be placing these on GB or EB soon, but I thought Id give this forum right of first refusal...but to also gather any info about them. (WHY DONT WE HAVE A VINTAGE OPTICS FORUM..SUB-FORUM?)
