I am looking at a M1icon Garand for sale this Saturday via my usual on-line auction site. It appears to be a standard M1 with a possibly sanded stock with no markings. It has a fake flashhider attached to the end of the barrel. The trigger group appears to be a post WW2 unit without the winter trigger loop. The receiver says Winchester with a very faint stamping (according to the photo). The serial number is difficult to read but appears to match the serial number listed in the description. The listed number is 145,XXX. Based upon my research, this number is not correct for a Winchester. Any thoughts or recommendations as to what this might actually be? The photos of this gun on the site are not very good and I am baffled by the incorrect serial number and fake flashhider. Thank you in advance for your assistance.
