I don't know, many times I took off or landed in a C130 with an M113 chained right at my knees. Anything goes out of whack and we're done...watching them strain and bounce... That wasn't even under fire. The whole thing is full of chances.

Bit of tubing, wood & canvas and away you go boys truly they had intestinal fortitude x 100 to climb into that contraption towed across the sky with about as much flak protection as tissue paper !
Then when at the appointed time cast off, have a controlled sort of a crash with hopefully being still alive and being in the fight, nope they were a breed apart that generation as are all that went, now go and will in the future go.
