Oh but can you not hear the "bleeding hearts now?" We were negotiating with the one pirate and you evil boys killed the other three; will they ever trust the US again? Dave_n

My only question is, What took so long? I was beginning to think Klinton was back in charge.
Thank You seals. You restored my faith. Now lets go free the other ships being held, and kick some third world pirate butt.

Marches and demonstrations scheduled for Oakland Ca. at 1800 this evening. Protesters will want to know why the USN killed three innocent pirates.

And it was snipers that did it! That is some good shooting at sea.

Apparently there's some other (German
) seamen being held hostage elsewhere in the "county" of Somalia by "pirates." I hope they don't pay the ultimate price for our guys freedom. One "pirate" was quoted as saying they will now kill at any sign of resistance.
While I applaud the actions of our guys that were definitely put on the spot by these S.O.B's, and had no other option than to pull the trigger, this problem is nowhere near being solved; I would think many more innocent people will be kill by these "pirates" in the future incidents to come.
While I'd like to think these S.O.B.'s would back down after this, they're dumb and desparate, and have no reason to stop what they're doing in a "country" that has no rule of law.
Time to arm every merchantman and bring the Q-Ships back.....IMHO.

I think we should act like Roosevelt(Teddy, the good one) and continue to protect AMERICANS when this kind of stuff happens. Rest of the world no longer appreciates the good we do anyway, so let them worry about saving their folks.

Seems Dear Leader dithered all day Friday until Saturday morning to authorize the use of deadly force.

Piracy is war at sea. Anyone initiating it should expect to meet deadly force as from time immemorial.
These are not teenagers shoplifting at Walgreen's.

I say we open up a 55 gallon drum of whoop a$$ and pour it all over those pirates! Blow their boats out of the water like it is cool then leave their a$$es there to drown and be eaten by sharks. Once a few of these jerks are killed and their buddies see it happening to them there won't be a pirate problem. There is a pirate problem because we, the world, has let there be one! Shipping companies should have 40mm Bofor's guns on the deck and let those bastards have it at the first sign of a problem. Gawd, if only I were the King!
