Eddystone P14
Just wondering if "all" P14 Eddystone manufactured rifles left the factory with fatboy stocks?
I'm interested in a Eddystone rifle but it does not have a fatboy stock but the stock appears to be original and not re-stocked. It has it's volley sights, brass roundel on the butt and no asterisk or star on the breech, piling swivel intact, etc......most of all the stock just looks period correct to the vintage of the rifle. It appears that it was not updated to WRS.
Serial number of rifle is in the 41,XXX range.
I'm waiting for additional photos.
Appreciate your thoughts.

That's a good question bros. So far as I know Eddystone Patt. 14 rifles were the only ones with the fat stocks but I don't know if all Eddystone rifles left the factory with fat stocks. If, as you say your rifle is still in pre-WRS condition then it is highly likely an original stock since the replacement stocks made for Patt. 14 rifles were not inletted for the stock disc and volley sights.

I have photos of the rifle in question now and the barreled action is sitting in a Winchester stock. Front volley sight is intact but missing the rear one. On the butt it has the original stock roundel and there is the IW stamp contained within the circle, I'm sure I can see the PATT 14 stamp beside it but it is very light. There is no asterisk by the serial number on the breech so the bolt has not been updated to the longer locking lug.
Nice rifle but the deal breaker for me is the miss-matched action/stock arrangement.
