    Another Culver's Paste question

Okay, so I mixed up a batch of the Culvericon's paste using 1/3 of Beeswax, BLOicon and turpentine. My question is : What should the consistency be like when the batch is cool? My batch has the consistency of room temperature butter. Kind of like a cream. Is this right? Thanks for any info.

When it's brand new it will be soft and creamy as you describe.

As it gets older it will turn into a Kiwi shoe polish-like paste.

When it get older and starts turning to a thicker paste I use a 100 watt light over the paste to soften it up a little.

Suggestion: To really work it into a stock the first couple times, I put the stock out in the sun to warm it up (WARM it up, not HEAT it up). Helps the oil to get into the wood. After a few times, I just use the paste with the stock at room temperature.
