Guys,
Dad and I are preparing to build an M1kit onto a CMP
receiver. I'd like to park the parts before assembly and I'm concerned with the elevation pinion. Is there a way to disassemble it so we don't have a pinion full of aluminum oxide when we're finished? Looks like the washer is sort of staked into the pinion knob. I have the pinion out of the receiver, I'm talking about removing the knob, washer, and pinion shaft from each other.
FYI, kit is probably a Dane return with receiver twisted off in Canada. Mix of PB, BMP, and USGI. Barrel is a Beretta but the muzzle is hogged out. Replacing with a Criterion from CMP, which I guess is parked (it IS park, right?). We'll restock in some new lumber and use it for local JCG matches.
Thanks,
