New purchase 1911 needs a sling
I picked up a very nice 1911 at auction Saturday. All matching numbers including the bayonet. Manufactured in 1918, frog is dated 1918 also. Name tag under the butt plate.
The one glaring problem is the sling. It has a brand new sling on it. No Swiss
markings that I can find. The fellow putting these up for auction apparently had three Swiss rifles, the other two being 1989's, also in very good shape. One of these two had the original sling, the other had the same sling mine has. If I'd been paying attention, I would have taken a closer look at the original sling but as I had no expectations of getting one of these at this particular auction (prices are usually out of my league), I did''t really look that closely. All I know is it was not the same sling that goes on the K11 or K31.
Does anyone have a photo of the proper sling for the 1911 they could post and/or a current source for one, preferably an original.

If that is the proper sling, that is what I was after.
The sling which is currently on it matches well from what I can see. It is however new so most likely a reproduction. It does have a makers mark but no date and no Swiss
emblem.
I have located a source but getting in touch with them has proved a challenge.

Mine has a stamp but it isn't Swiss
that I can tell. Small diamond stamp with LMP inside.
I'm surprised yours doesn't have a date and manufacturers mark.
I suspect mine is a current production replacement/reproduction sling. I may leave it for now.

You got the wrong sling, you have an 1899 sling
That was made 2 years before the 1911 was produced.
Seriously, they used the same sling but that is interesting that you have one that old. It's a good one.
