In relation to wood carvings for anti slip on the wrist and stock, it was Colin Moon of Kent that used to fabricate these on the Enforcers for odd forces and thanks to Roger for remembering his name.
The other oddment on my rifle was the double lozenge where the S/N and the separate lozenge for the rest of the text below. Many rifles had their print direct onto the metalwork and a lot had single lozenges, all to do with unsold Envoys and lot of giggery pockery to boot which is sadly lost in time, but it is known that Envoy and all references had to be removed before work could be carried out on the rifles.
It was when they found fresh No4 Mk2 actions, that the Enforcer designation was directly applied to the metal, so no lozenges.
All these strange changes.........but thanks to Nigel Greenawayicon for the unusual history of these changes. I must have the only double lozenge one out there unless someone else has one???
