POSSIBLE CMP GARAND???? In a Transit crate???

Hello, all... im looking for info before i spend way too much money on something i dont think ever existed...

At my local gun store is a MINT WW2 SA GARAND high 800,000 serial appears unfired or redone at some point... IM FAR FROM A GARAND EXPERT... what catches my eye & what i really like is this transit case it is in.... BUT not unit or military marked... Fits this garand like a glove... & very similiar to a Britishicon No4T transit chest.... The chest has what appears to have green pool top like felt on the inside.... i dont think these ever came this way.... Possible CMPicon piece???? anyone have this or any info... id love to know more before over spending

    THANKS GUYs

Without pictures no one can honestly answer you on it. We would only be guessing what is on the moon at this point. Rick Bicon

There was a company that restored military rifles, Johnson '41, Springfield 1903 & A4, Mauser 98 and M1icon rifles, they were returned in a wooden transit box, the company was Mitchell Arms. Don't know if this is one of their examples or not ?

You can contact the CMPicon and for a $25 fee, they will check their records for sales

Miltech did not "restore" rifles. They sold "refinished mixed parts rifles with new wood".

Could it be a "new Springfield Armory" rifle? Perhaps they started their serial numbers where the "old Springfield Armory" left off? Just my two cents.
