This probably best answered by BQ but he may be busy.
I've heard some people say that on a carbine bolt the left lug is just a guide for the bolt to travel down the receiver, that the right lug takes all of the stress. This seems kind of short sighted on the part of the designers as two lugs regardless of size should help the bolt much better than one.
My question is; does anyone have proof of this theory or is it just a theory?
