    So, the prefix Z could be located above the serial number, not only in front of serial number, correct?

    Yes. The application of the leading "Z" was standard operating procedure for dealing with duplicate serial numbers. The font used on a4 serial numbers is smaller than that used on A3's so the "Z" appears on the same line as the numerals. With a3's it is located above the leading digit.
