I recently purchased 1943 german k98 mauser byf vet bring back all numbers matching

What type of K98 is it (manufacturer code) and is the stock laminated or walnut? Does the stock have matching numbers?

Hi as far as i know it is a byf 43 waffenampt 835 on the top of the reciever, the stock is walnut as far as I know the stock is matching, the only thing that was changed is the rear sight assembly the seller informed me his dad had it changed for a aftermarket rocky mountain open sight installed in the 50's he is looking for the sight for me but it looks like it is gone So i need a rear sight assembly,cleaning rod and front hood.

Buy the gun not the story. Personally I don't believe it.If that were my dad that brought the rifle back and it had been in the family all these years I surely would'nt sell it for a measily $350. In fact, Bill Gates would'nt have enough money to buy it. BTW, a byf 43 should have waffenampt 135, a laminated stock and IIRC a cupped butt plate.

good cross refference information! covers alot of info.

They made them at Mauser Oberndorf with walnut too in 1943. They weren't all laminated. It should have a cupped buttplate.

question for the pro's, what manufacture sling is this? it was given to me with the mauser I bought all I can see is made in germany I dont think it is a mauser k98 sling any help would be great! thanks guys.
