How can I fix handguard in my M1 Garand ?

If you hand guard is to tight then it will string the shots. The front hand guard should not be tight as it will bow the barrel as it heats up if you use the Gas cylinder to tighten it in place. If you screw it to the lower band to stop movement you will not be allowed to use it in some Garand matches.

Tom Findley is not the person to use as a references as he has been a very big part of the forgery issues and was part of many fleecing of people even if by proxy.
