I have owned Enforcer No. 476 for 20 years, any info would be great, I bought her from Practical Weaponry in Stoke in the eighties, they told me that it came from Staffordshire Police, the rifle has numbered bolt, mag and Pecar scope.

    Stuart,

Rifle serial number 476 was indeed dispatched to Staffordshire Police on the 13th September 1974.

    Cheers,

    Simon.

    Simon,

Could you tell me the original force receiving Enforcer 077?

I purchased what appears to be an ex Police Parker Hale M82 which came mounted with the Pecar from 077. I'm wondering if the force retained the Pecar after retiring the Enforcer.

    Many thanks

    Tony

    Cheers,

    Thanks Simon,

Does anyone know if the Liverpool rifles made it out on to the market or did they have a date with the chop saw?

    Tony,

The honest answer is I don't know.

Maybe Alan de Enfield has some info regarding the Scouse Enforcers?

    Alan! it's over to you.

    Cheers,

    Simon.

Liverpool Police only ever purchased four (4) Enforcers, I am working my way down the various forces with freedom of information requests by number of rifles purchased.
I so far have information from the following 'forces' :
    Durham
    Derbyshire
    The Met
    Suffolk
    Devon & Cornwall
    Glasgow
    Manchester
    Sussex
Mine are not the best, but they are not too bad. I can think of lots of Enfields I'd rather have but instead of constantly striving for more, sometimes it's good to be satisfied with what one has...

Cheers for the confirmation about 476, I needed to know because last year I contacted Staffs police with a 'freedom of information' request concerning 476 and guess what? They had no record that they had ever owned it, they did confirm though, that they still had No. 102 (I think), kept by them for tactical training and that its origonal butt stock had been replaced with one from an L42.
