The picture I posted and another with an intermediate band with a bayonet lug and a side/swivel mounted sling attachment(1909 model?) and yet one more with the sling attachments on the bottom of the stock and forend.My example is odd in that it seems to have been converted to its current configuration.Now your renewed addiction has me adding another Mauser to my Christmas list.I hope it is as pretty as the pictures.

    AFAIK, the 1891 Argentineicon (the one in the picture that you attached) has no "Mountain" or "Engineer's" carbine. Only the '09 Mauser came in that configuration.

    I've seen both of the '91 Mauser carbine versions that you described.
