Another update.
Took the rifle to the range. Here is a video:
Recap:
- Front sight on it is -045, and currently it shoots about 18-20" high. The stock and nosecap could be contributing, but I did order 060, 045, 030 and 015 sight blades.
- Got a new forestock and voila, this one is straight. But it is soaked in some preservative like gun oil, and only the front of the stock, which is where I suspect it warps - at the barrel band recess.
- The extractor seems to be a 303 extractor. I had very inconsistent or non-existent extraction. I used a no4 rifle extractor (at least I believe that is what it is) that was sent to me by Numrich as no2 rifle extractor, and reshaped it to work with my rifle.
- The round coming from left in the magazine didn't always want to feed. I reshaped the lips of the magazine, and now both sides feed properly.
I will try to straighten my existing forestock once more using the hot oil method. If it doesn't work, I will move onto the new forestock.
