Luis, let me know the frame and engine number, I'll look it up .......... looking at the bike It won't take a lot to get it back to a WD bike, I'm not up on Ariel,s but had the chance when I bought my Matchless, cold weather stops play for me in the work shop but when I build the other It will be insulated and very very comfortable to work in, only problem then is I need to build the house extension where the old workshop was.........
If you need any particular parts let me know as its a Minefield when it comes to finding bits, only when talking to other Military vehicle owners do you start to find and get to know the small garages, dealers , collectors which are overflowing with used and new spares.

The frame XG 44964 march 1944.
The engine BH 21762 march 1942.

Your frame is from contract number S5514, 3000 bikes produced, dates from 06/01/44 to Nov 44, cost £62.13s.6d frame numbers between XG44251-47250 engine number should be between BH42001 - 45000 and WD serial allocation number between 5363021- 5366020
The book you mention is excellent, thats were all that info come from
, try to stay away from reproduction stuff, especially the indian stuff......
I went to look at an Enfield before christmas but it was border line but the guy was a world of knowledge and lots of british bike parts, I walked off with a crank case set for the Matchless.......
