    I stripped a 1917 stock of spray paint once and cut this pin flush during the process. It was getting in the way of my scraper and honestly I didn't even consider its use.

    Anyway, it's there for a reason, haha. I replaced mine with a long finish nail or a piece of stout steel wire, I can't recall. I can tell you I didn't spend any money on it, that's for sure.
