after shooting a rifle with the scope moved forward.. it was pretty hard to focus on the target.
I set these to compete with the Vintage sniper classes. so the safety must swing all the way over. with medium rings, and the bell set for a 3 to 4 inch focus point. it works great, as well as the rifle looking so much better then it set forward. yes, I have seen the manual, and have several copies of it with the drawing of the scope set forward. so now everyone thinks thats the way it was supposed to be set.
im ok with that... set it how you want.. then go shoot the rifle. and see if that works... most move the scope back pretty quick.
I have a M82 that was on a genuine A4, that had been on storage. and the scope was set up back.. still have it someplace.. and it has split rings, so you know they had to take the scope apart to mount it..
most if not all the replica rifles I build. will have a Weaver K 2.5 on top. and use modern 1 inch rings , with medium hight. hard to find the old original split rings that sit higher, scopes were smaller back then and shooters liked the slim look...go with what ever fits your need...and dont worry about whats pictured in a manual. or posted by us on the forums
