That is certainly one of the best looking if not best-looking Enfield I’ve ever seen. Thank you for the great pictures!

By the way, I assume the scope is one of those which didn’t have the khaki matte finish, since examples with it still preserve it in fairly good conditions. Looks like blued if I’m not mistaken. Any info about it?

The only nagging question I’d have is what else is known about the S.A.L. C. 67 pad,if there was further research, and so. I don’t know if the owner knows of any source(s), but if he did, I’d be glad to know them. Just that. Thanks for your help.

Wouldn’t be surprised if they do, honestly, without not many color pictures around, and given the resemblance, one may think they were Jostam Anti-Flinch pads, IIRC, the most highly sought after recoil pad for gun restorations.

Just a vague thought of mine, but I think S.A.L. produced the “C. 67” recoil pad as material-saving measure (rubber was a key war material during WW2), or/and as an improvement over standard commercial rubber pads. I’d say they may have even tried with rubber or other materials at some point, always prioritizing performance (maybe their goal was to achieve equal or better performance than most high-end recoil pads of that time), with the advantage of saving costs (S.A.L.-produced pads would’ve been cheaper than buying commercial pads). Something to think about.

My apologies, what I meant above is that with not many pictures of those rifles I can understand they think pads are Jostams.
