I read something interesting last night but considering the source I don't know what to make of it. It was from Cuomo, the idiot governor of New York who created the biggest mess in this nation through a combination of inaction and actively pushing for normalcy at the beginning of this entire thing.

He said that over 60% of NEW hospitalizations are coming from people who have been claiming to be self isolating. This makes no sense at all considering what we have been told. These are people who should not be contracting the virus. Granted, it's Cuomo and I have seen no other reports indicating this from anyone but am throwing it out there to see if is has happened anywhere. So either these people are lying, Cuomo is confused, or something really weird is going on like a possible incubation period a lot longer than anyone thought.

New case numbers are dropping both nationally and locally at a steady rate despite the reopenings happening across the nation.

Pennsylvania has finally released some numbers but it had to come from our legislature, not the governor. 67.9% of all deaths are from nursing homes. The average age is 79. Of all deaths statewide, not just in the nursing homes 11.9% had four comorbidities, 22.7% had three comorbidities, 27.2 had two comorbidities and 22.6 had one comorbidity. 11% had no comorbidity. The numbers don't add up to 100% but these numbers were what was reported to the legislature by the Governor's office. He has finally told them, but not us. They told us. Aggravating.

So in summary, it is what was suspected all along. Covid is not causing the vast majority of these deaths. It is aggravating underlying causes and the combination of the two or more conditions is what is causing the deaths.

We had similar information here. Lots of people got the virus at home, probably because they were not tested early enough and went into quarantine late, when they already had others at home infected.
Plenty seem to be completely asymptomatic and have thus infected their whole household.
The tragedy from the nursing homes reflects what happened here. Stats almost identical. Age, previous co-morbidities, etc.

The really aggravating thing here is that we are losing any appearance of democracy.
Criticising the government is impossible. Yesterday, 40-50 restaurant owners organised a protest in Milan, on an open square, in an extremely civilised manner, keeping safe distance and wearing masks.
They have been all identified and fined (400€ each, and hopefully no criminal charges on top of this) by the investigative department of the Police. Those who investigate big crime, terrorism and other nice things have been mobilised to intimidate these guys.
Ten days ago we had the so-called partisans who just paraded through many cities, free as birds and no-one was even warned. But they belong to the ideological side of the government, so they don't count.
Again, some animals keep being more equal than others here...
And this, luckily, is starting to cause some unrest. I guess that this might be the time when Italians shake up the tree a bit, to see if some fruits will fall down.
Many are finally understanding that they can't be taught what to do by technicians, bureaucrats only. There is the need for political agreement, for the hearing of different ideas, positions and then for a decision which has to be shared as much as possible.
I don't even think that this would create many problems, since currently the management of this crisis is really a disaster.
It's the Italianicon people who, behaving in an extremely responsible way, are allowing an improvement of the situation. Not the bureaucrats nor the politicians.

I had another interesting "progressive" at the gun shop yesterday. He thought that he could buy a gun with his driver's license. I explained to him that he was lucky that it only takes 4 to 6 weeks to get the necessary NJ firearms ID card to purchase a shotgun due to the process being put on line. Previously it would take 4 to 6 months if not more when manual paperwork was required. Out of curiosity, i asked him why at this time was he looking to buy a firearm with when this virus had created a buying panic. He said, "Well, you cannot shoot a virus but when there started to be food shortage that's when I knew it was time to buy something for self defense." He stated that he had never own a gun in his life but now it was time to think things differently. He still believe in the requirements to buy a gun. I said OK, but what do you do before you get your ID Card and things start to get out of hand? I told him that the average gun owner is always prepared for any possible natural or man-made disaster with a bit of food stockpiled and a means of protection. He left the shop reflecting on that thought.

American's are fighting back and for the most part are winning. People are being arrested for doing normal things and higher ups are releasing them and dropping the charges. High profile case in Texas of a salon owner who has employees that are going hungry so they can feed their kids and she has kids to feed herself. Judge threw her in prison, AG told him to release her, Governor told him to release her, he was an *** and refused and said she was their for contempt (against him) and the Governor had no say in the matter. State Supreme Court came down on this *** and released her. Lot of these small things happening and quickly making the news and those little tyrants are getting bitch slapped every time. They keep this stupid crap up and they will have some tar and feathering going on soon.

    Steve,
That judge wanted her to give 'him' an apology, to which she refused.
One victory for the little guys !

    M1icon C Fan,
We've been fortunate that this topic has been able to continue on. It has acted like a support group for many of us whose lives and families have been touched by this virus.
Don't take it personally about the topics on the Nova Scotia and Canadianicon gun ban being locked down.

Below was copy/pasted from the Nova Scotia thread, posted by Badger:

    M1 C Fan,
Take it from me who has had his share of topics closed, many at no fault of my own but from others getting off track or by starting name calling.
I know it turns the blood temp up but it's not personal.......
I for one look forward to reading future posts by you.
