My next question is on the converted No 4 to No 5 with the Cyprus marks. Bought mine in Hawaii when stationed there in 92. All the posts and gun forums from 10+ years ago are inconclusive on origin. Thanks"

I was talking with a very good gunsmith friend at the weekend about these converted No4 rifles and he said that he saw a pile of them on a pallet at the now defunct Ryton Arms many years ago, I know it's no nearer to finding out who did the conversion but they appear to have been made in some quantity not just a few with Ryton importing them into the UK
