    If the rifle is a Model of 1917 Caliber .30 Enfield Rifleicon or P17. The bolts were not serial numbered from the factory. They were also not serialized in US Government Service. As many surplus M1917s were shipped to other countries as war aid during WWII. Many of these countries serial numbered the bolts to conform to their ordnance standards. I would look on your rifle for other markings to indicate foreign service.

    I notice that you are in the Yukon. A great many M1917s were sold to Canadaicon during WWII.
