Here in Indiana you can get a "Target/Hunting permit" or a ccw for 4yrs(yrs. may have changed lately) or if you want to cough up around $120(?)at one time, you can get a "Life Time" permit that covers everything,Target,Hunting and CCW(you can even sleep with it if you want to)no test required, there will be a backround check, fingerprinting for it and you need to write a reason for wanting the permit, and that requires 2 words,"Self Defense".

Slight correction Ray, 120 if you do not have a present CCW, 100 if you already have one, and you "do not" have to have a reason [at least not where I go], remember that the Hoosier state is a "shall issue" state [at least for now].

I just figured posting the cost to a newbie cause us old guys would know the upgrade price, where we file for permits wanted a slip of paper saying whether you wanted Target/Hunting or Self Defense permit so there wouldn't be any mix up between the two, wasn't a legal requirement, just a memo type thing to keep applications in order, years ago I worked part time doing gunsmith work for a small (in his garage) gun dealer and since I had a Federal LIcense I got my permits free every 4 yrs.,after he closed down in 1974 I quit renewing my Fed. Lic. and had to start paying for my permits like every one else.{side note; retired LEO's get free license for life).

    Dave,
I too live in MI. Shipping ammo through UPS is usually a painless experience, until you get the employee who does not know the rules. The boxes do have to be marked ORM-D, no big deal. If you ship to an apartment address they will usually want you to ship Signature Required. I always do that as I dont want the package sitting in a hallway. Sometimes the shipping can be expensive depending on where you ship the package to. Dont know why but that is how it works. I use the depot in Lansing and most of the employess know me and that makes things a whole lot easier. Stay away from the UPS Store outlets, they are nothing but a ripoff.
As far as primers go that is a Haz-Mat item and you need to be a lisenced Haz-Mat shipper. Many of the gunshops can sell powder and primers but cannot ship them. I have wondered about the people selling this type of items on GB. I just figured they were shipping them illegaly.
